Alumni forum

Guys, This forum is getting better, stronger and larger, day by day.
For any forum to sustain, to move forward, we need to have objectives. Ofcourse, when we say objectives, all of us would agree to me that, we would need to pay back to our college.

However, here issue is the clarity of the objective and how we'll finetune the objective, thus smoothen the way to implement it.

As many of you already aware of the fact, the ZGC Alumni in UAE is one of the strongest unit worldwide. We have been in existence for last 6 years, with lots of events and celebrations. This year's annual get-together is scheduled on 8th Apr (Varnam 2011) with variety of programs in offer.

ZGCA also supports almost 18 students in our college with scholarship for those students, who are not otherwise able to fund their studies in our college. This has been in existence for last 4 plus years and still continuing. From last year, ZGCA has established a new award (with a cash Rs 10,000/-) to one student, who will excel in studies as well as extra curricular activities. For further info on ZGCA UAE Chapter's activities and its wonderful leaders, pls visit www.zgca.org

We also established a 'Task Force' - this is what exactly I wanted to propose as the key objective of this forum. A year back, Task Force was formed and yours truly was chosen as its chief coordinator. Task Force is to help the College, to have more scientifically designed reads to the college, a total renovation of the current fecilities and help the college to build new buildings, if needed. A new Library block is already almost approved by UGC funding (I guess). The task force is expected to study and implement all these, by funding the project, as approved by College Management. All this had been decided, when current representative of College Management, Mr. Krishna Raja Varma visited Dubai some time back and he requested for the help of the old students to re-build the college.

I must confess, being the Chief Coordinator, I couldn't do any thing on it, except, couple of corporates promised to help. Inaction is fully due to the economic tough rides, witnessing worldwide, and Dubai in particular.

With this Forum, I feel it's possible to turn the table. Cane we? I'm there in any form!

Let me hear it from you all.

My warm regards,
Shoukath Ali Eroth
